What are ceramic coatings and what do they do?

Ceramic coatings, nano coatings, and glass coatings are the go-to choice for paint protection in the detailing world. Unlike waxes or synthetic sealants that will last from a few weeks to a few months, these ceramic coatings can last several years when maintained properly.

Ceramic coatings are the most durable form of protection for your paint and also bring a number of benefits along with them. Coatings will add a premium level of hydrophobic (water repelling) properties that allows water to bead and roll right off of the coated areas. You will also notice that you will have a much easier time cleaning your car as the dirt, grime, and bird droppings will not stick to the surface as easily.

Are ceramic coatings for me?

Maintaining your vehicle after a coating is one of the most important things to preserve its longevity. Because of this, whether or not you want to do that should be question number one when deciding if a ceramic coating is for you. If you plan to drive your car through the automated car washes or drive around with your car covered in bird droppings, then maybe a ceramic coating isn't for you. But if you love having a clean looking car with high gloss all of the time and don't mind learning the very basic steps in maintenance, then a ceramic coating is encouraged and highly worth the investment.

How do I maintain my coating?

At Keola's Detailing, we will properly educate you on a variety of detail products: from proper soaps or rinseless washes to maintenance sprays designed to preserve your coating and rejuvenate its hydrophobic properties. However, as always, we know that not everyone has the time to up keep their coatings. If this is the case, we highly recommend a monthly maintenance detail from us to keep your car in premium condition.

Due to the nature of detailing the prices listed are base starting prices, these prices can fluctuate if the vehicle being detailed is excessively dirty and will be finalized upon inspection.
